Discarded library books: are they a good value?

I do not buy discarded library books for 2 reasons:
1) They are basically falling apart. Hence, why they are taken out of circulation!

2) They are either unpopular reads or the information in them are outdated.
The library shelves need to be clear off of the old crap to make room for the new crap.

  1. I buy discarded library books for two reasons:

    1) those in my area are not in such bad shape and, best of all, they are not marked up like some privately owned used books. I like to mark up books and it gets confusing when my underlines, notes, etc. are mixed with someone else's.

    2) history is constantly being rewritten. I like to see what it was before those currently in power rewrote it.
